The Outsiders

The Outsiders at Tivoli Theatre - Chattanooga

The first time you hear that slow, steady guitar live, it stops being just another story you were told in high school. At the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, The Outsiders brings you into Ponyboy Curtis’s world. switchblades traded for chords and choruses, and the city of Tulsa running right up to the stage.

This Broadway adaptation puts you in the heart of friendship, belonging, and split-second choices. You’ll see Johnny Cade and the rest of the crew, torn between brotherhood and the hard edges of the world. Every time the music rises, familiar characters get a new voice you haven’t heard before. That’s the difference Jamestown Revival and Justin Levine’s live score makes. a show about outsiders suddenly lets you in on the inside.

Go with a friend who would’ve sat on the backstep with you talking about everything that didn’t make sense. Or bring someone new and see how the themes of class, loyalty, and growing up sound when sung feet away instead of read in quiet. In person, every line carries a different weight. the kind you can nod along to, or quietly remember on the way home.
