Vienna Light Orchestra

Vienna Light Orchestra at Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

The basilica changes what you look at while you listen. There’s candlelight and the glow of illuminated trees, and there are strings and five voices to follow. Let your eyes settle for a while and listen to the difference between a phrase played by the ensemble and one carried by a singer. Vienna Light Orchestra comes to Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Chattanooga on Thursday, December 17, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

If you’ve spent the month hearing Christmas music in passing, there’s something appealing about making an evening of it on purpose. The program’s new arrangements give you a reason to listen for the melody and for the people playing around it. Ask the person beside you which part drew their attention first when you leave. An evening performance makes it easy to make the concert your main plan.

This Thursday evening performance is a good choice if your family has been trying to find one time everyone can meet before Christmas. Give yourselves a plan that begins with sitting down together. If someone comes for the setting and another person comes for the music, both have something to look forward to.
